Killer migraines in first grade

I remember having severe headaches as far back as 3 years old. Possibly they were migraines, and I had them sometimes. It was not until I entered first grade that I had daily migraine attacks. Thankfully, my teacher knew that my mother had debilitating migraines, and she could tell that I was having an actual migraine and not trying to just go to the nurse. I have had migraine attacks all these years, even after menopause. Sometimes I feel I can not take another minute of it, but I do. It is hard when I know that when this migraine starts to let up a little...Wham!! another one comes crashing down. I am sensitive to light, motion, sound, smells, and I can hear the blood rushing loudly through my head. That is on top of tinnitis. I have many other medical problems as well, but migraines were the first. No medication that my insurance will cover helps at all. I have to just suffer it out. Laying down just makes it that much worse because the blood rushes faster to my head. I just want to feel better.

  1. Hi there - Thank you for taking the time to share your relationship with migraines. It sounds like it has been a long and complicated journey. I too am sensitive to smells and light, so I relate with you on that! Has it been in your control to create a scent free environment at home? This was a game changer for me personally, as scents were a major driver of my migraines. Hope to hear more about what's working for you! - Cody (Team Member)
