I hope this finds you having a low pain day, in both regards. You are definitely not alone when it comes to battling both migraine and fibromyalgia. One of the first things I try to do when I have a flare up is some self-care. I make a glass of hot tea. If I have time and are at home, I take a warm/hot bath with epsom salts. Additionally, some gentle stretching and heating pads can be helpful.
I will be completely honest with you, I do have a pain medication that I can take when my fibromyalgia flare is too bad. The medication I use is called Nucynta. Now, I only take it when my pain is at that level that I cannot bear it any longer. I know it would work better if I took it sooner, but there is a risk of pain medications causing some head pains. If I take a pain pill, I make sure that I drink plenty of water the next several hours. I do not want my fibromyalgia flare to create a migraine.
Feel free to reach out with any additional questions you may have about balancing these two conditions. Stay strong and know that you are not alone. - Amanda (team member)
