I have been afflicted with silent migraines since retiring 17 years ago. I have been taking Embality for about three years. I came to this forum because recently I have had an increase in frequency of episodes. After spending just a few minutes, I quickly realized how blessed I was to have such a minor affliction. I never have headaches.
I also wanted to offer some feedback to others regarding one significant improvement I had in February, 2025 because my neurologist continued to nag me.
I had been diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea but didn't want to start using a CPAP machine. Up until this point, I had been diagnosed with vestibular migraines with dizziness attacks every day. About three months after starting use of the CPAP machine, my dizziness attacks ceased completely. So I would encourage anyone who snores while sleeping to have a sleep study. It's worth your time.
Back to my question. When I started Embality, I was experiencing 14 silent migraine episodes/month. About three months after starting this CRGP inhibiter it decreased to 9/month, and had been very stable until this past July. Since that time it has increased to 11/month.
Is this unusual? Is it worth changing to another CRGP inhibitor? FWIW, I have no other side effects from the Embality injection.
