Night Terrors?

So, I appear to have developed a new aura symptom? I've had nightmares in one before, anxiety and panic attacks are regular aura symptoms. But I think my most recent one involved night terrors? A couple nights ago my mother told me I was screaming for help in my sleep. I don't talk in my sleep ever. Is this concerning?

  1. Hi , I'm so sorry that you're dealing with a possible new aura symptom. I hope some community members with any experience on night terrors and their migraine attacks can share with you here. In the meantime, I was able to find this information from the National Library of Medicine about sleep disorders and migraine, https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8471052/. You might find this particularly of interest, "Evidence from the literature demonstrates that nightmares sometimes accompany migraine, and this link has been proposed as a result of number of factors that affect both migraine and nightmares, for example, various stressors." That being said, if you're concerned, it might not hurt to bring it up with your doctor, just to be sure that the night terror is related to migraine and not due to something else. Wishing you a gentle day. -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)
